Story of Vietnamese “banh mi” introduced in foreign newspaper

The flavours of the modern banh mi vary by region in Vietnam. In Hanoi in the north, the fillings are more simple than the “original” found in Ho Chi Minh City in the south, and include high-quality cold cuts.

“Hard to resist” is what Theign Yie Phan, a head chef, describes Vietnamese “banh mi” (sandwich), in an article entitled “Story of the banh mi: Vietnam’s super sandwich that took on the world” run in the South China Morning Post.

The quality and quantity of academic articles published in international scientific journals are important criteria to evaluate and rank universities in the country and world.

Funds from the Government and organisations for research activities in the social sciences is lower than in other fields, which is limiting research efforts, according to Professor Nguyễn Thị Cành of University of Economics and Law under Việt Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM).

Vietnam recorded a total of four million tourists in 2020, ranking 47th in the world in absolute terms.
